About Waialae Iki Ridge View Lots (Units 1-4)

Wai’alae Iki Ridge is a beautiful residential community, located on the east side of the island of Oahu.  Our community was organized in 1976 and is comprised of 4 phases of development.  There is a 5th phase on the ridge which is a separate gated community, and is not included in this Website.

If you’re looking for information on the gated community (Phase 5), you may click here.

There are 625 homes in our community, and our residents are from many backgrounds and age groups.  Most of the homes are owner occupied, and we invite both owners and tenants to join our Community Organization (Waialae Iki Ridge Community Association, or WIRCA) where members are able to participate in our hillside activities and discussions.

One of the Safest Neighborhoods in East Oahu!

Our neighborhood does not have a security gate, and our crime rate is next to nothing. Our Community Association uses the annual dues paid by members to provide a security patrol. These observant, friendly and very helpful officers drive around the neighborhood, making sure that “bad guys” know someone is watching.  They’re also on the lookout for runaway pets and overflowing pools.  They take initiative to solve problems before they become big.  We are very lucky to have this great group of officers working with us!

Benefits of WIRCA Membership

In addition to the Security Patrol, there are other benefits to WIRCA Members. They have access to our password protected website, which includes our member directory, contact info for our Board of Directors and Security Patrol, and where our monthly e-newsletter can be found.

Newsletters

The monthly newsletter is typically sent on the first of each month, in electronic format only. It is produced blog-style, and members with email addresses on file receive up to two notification emails per household when a new edition has been published. Newsletter content includes:

  • Security/crime report for the previous month including statistics from surrounding communities
  • Real estate activity reports
  • “Board Shorts” – Report from the board of directors and committees
  • Pet Directory helping to re-unite lost pets with their owners
  • Neighbor to Neighbor communications. Any member can submit an announcement or news.
  • Local events
  • Road work or other items that may impact the neighborhood

Membership in WIRCA is not mandatory, but the vast majority of household join to take advantage of the member benefits.

About the Surrounding Areas

Nearby neighborhoods in East Honolulu have so much to offer.  You’ll find non stop action close by in Waikiki, fine dining along Waialae Ave. in Kaimuki, and quiet beaches in Kahala.  Shops and markets are all close by, as is the University of Hawaii and Kapiolani Community College.  For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there is a popular hike at the top of Wai’lae Iki’s developed areas.  The Wiliwili Trail is open to everyone, and provides wonderful views, as well as a good workout.  A short drive to the east puts you at Hanauma Bay’s world class snorkeling. Click here to view our Community Info page.  You’ll find a section listing local business and community services. We do not endorse these businesses, but hope they will be helpful if you are new to our community.
