Call to Order:
President
C Hagloch called the meeting to order at 4:30pm.
Approval of
Minutes:
Minutes
of the September 18, 2007 and annual meeting of November 8, 2007 were
approved as distributed, and will be posted on the website.
Treasurers
Report: The
Treasurer's Report was distributed and presented by R Liu. Questions
were asked and answered.
Committee Reports:
- Nominating Committee
- D Andrew introduced new Board member Jerry Wilhemy. One more Board
member will be recruited.
- Newsletter -
Next newsletter articles due by February 5, 2008. J. Allin will be
retiring from the Newsletter chair position and is looking for a replacement
- anyone interested should contact her or C Hagloch. Concern expressed
that e-mailed copies of the newsletter do not get read as much as
hard copies that are mailed to the household. Discussion was held
on whether to mail a hard copy to all households. It was moved and
seconded to send a hard copy to all households. A vote of 13 for the
motion and one opposed. Motion carried. Newsletter will be mailed
to all households.
- Membership Dues
- D. Ashley reported that 507 out of 624 property owners had paid annual dues.
- Decals - D. Ashley reported 5 had been distributed recently.
- Web Page - J.
Fadrowsky reported that either the www.wirca.org
or www.wirca.info website
addresses would access the WIRCA website. The WIRCA web master suggested
more pictures and updated articles.
- Information
Dissemination – H. MacNeil reported that there had been two requests for information in recent weeks. She distributed the letter from the attorney regarding the WIRCA view channels and suggested that the final version be placed on the website and newsletter. H. MacNeil to convene a subcommittee to finalize the attorney letter.
- Security – G Plasch presented an assessment and evaluation of the Guard services. She requested the Board consider additional hours.
- Database – No
report.
- Park – N. Sparks reported that trees are still an issue for some homeowners. Will continue to explore suggestions and resolutions.
- Public Affairs
and Liaison to Neighborhood Board J. Schneider reported that his wife Michelle would be willing to take over his responsibilities as a WIRCA Board member and the Liaison to the Neighborhood Board position. The Board unanimously agreed.
- Social - F. Jones announced the annual Board gathering to be held in October at the home of Lisa Iwata. A BBQ and potluck menu is planned.
- Zone Captains
– F. Jones reported she is in the process of recruiting replacement Zone Captains.
- Bylaws and Parliamentary
Procedure – No report.
- Traffic Calming
– M. Bianco is the new chair of this committee. He is actively moving the "slow down" sign primarily up and down Laukahi Street.
- Streets and
Sidewalks – L. Iwata reported that the repaving of Laukahi Street was completed. A special "Thanks" goes out to J. Wright for spearheading that movement and to all the homeowners who sent in letters that were subsequently forwarded to the city. Additionally, some sidewalks are being repaired by the City & County currently.
- Job Descriptions
– no report.
New Business:
- The annual membership dinner will be held at the Waialae Country Club on November 8, 2007. There will be a guest speaker from the SuperFerry followed by the annual member meeting.
