Board of Directors' Meeting
November 8, 2007

Speaker:
Melissa McFerrin, Director of Community Relations, Hawaii SuperFerry
spoke on the implementation of Hawaii's first passenger and vehicle
inter-island ferry. There was an enthusiastic question and answer
period following the talk. The presentation was well received by the
members in attendance.
Call to Order:
President
C. Hagloch called the meeting to order at 8:12pm.
Special Recognition:
Carmen Hagloch
recognized the following individuals for outstanding work this past
year. They are:
- Cookie Ayabe,
Carolyn Hong and Lisa Chang for organizing the annual meeting,
- Janice Wright
for spearheading the Laukahi Street repaving movement, and
- Barbara Marumoto,
Judy Fadrowsky and Catherine Fadrowsky for the planting and watering
of the Kalaianaole Highway and Laukahi Street corner plants.
Committee Recognition:
- Membership -
Donna Ashley collects and deposits dues that are primarily used for
the security patrol.
- Nominating -
David Andrew presented the slate of Board members who were approved
by the membership.
- Treasurer's Report
- John Michalski read the report to the members.
- Public Affairs
and Liaison to Neighborhood Board - Michelle Schneider is the WIRCA
Liaison to the Neighborhood Board.
- Newsletter -
Joann Allen chairs the Newsletter. It is issued three times a year.
- Website - Judy
Fadrowsky coordinates information on the WIRCA website which may be
accessed through www.wirca.org
or www.wirca.info.
- Zone Captains
– Fay Jones is the new chair of the Zone Captains. All Zone Captains
in attendance were asked to stand. C. Hagloch expressed her appreciation
at those who have volunteered their time.
- Social - Fay
Jones and Sandra Kingery organized the annual WIRCA Board BBQ/pot
luck.
- Decals - Sandra
Kingery distributes car decals to homeowners upon request.
- Information
Dissemination – Helen H. MacNeil provides information to homeowners
regarding view channel restrictions for the various increments.
- Traffic Calming
– Mike Bianco moves the "slow down" sign on Laukahi Street almost
daily.
- Security – Ginger
Plasch updated the membership on security issues over the past twelve
months and introduced the security guards who were in attendance.

and 19th District State Representative Barbara Marumoto for her active
participation in making the WIRCA neighborhood a better place to live,
and
- Melissa McFerrin
for her informative presentation.
